What is ConquerorSteps
ConquerorSteps is a free way of recording your steps in The Conqueror App.
You can record these steps even when you don't have an active challenge. These will save as unposted steps and can be posted to a challenge that you join at a later date.
How it works
The Conqueror App can now access the step data that your iPhone or Android phone record, this means you can record daily steps without the need for an intermediate app.
Once connected the daily total of steps will be saved in the App for you to manually post to a challenge, or if you prefer you can have them automatically post to 1 or more challenges.
IMPORTANT: the steps that are counted only come from the movement of your phone, not any smart watches (or tablet) that you may have connected to your phone. So if you want to record your steps off a watch then our 3rd party connections are still the only way of achieving this.
We only collect the data we require. Read more about this in our privacy notice.
Getting Started
Tap on the ConquerorSteps icon on the home screen:
**ConquerorDistance is currently in development and will allow you to record distances with our App.
How to give permissions on iOS
The first time you click on ConquerorSteps you'll be taken to an info page that links to the privacy policy and you will need to click continue to proceed, this will then prompt a pop-up from your phone which requires you to allow The Conqueror App to access physical activity data from the device, you can only connect 1 device to an account.
If you are enabling ConquerorSteps for a 2nd time (after disabling it) or if you click "don't allow" then you will be automatically sent to the settings page to reactivate this permission in the Motion & Fitness screen.

How your steps are posted
Your steps are tracked throughout the day from midnight to midnight. After midnight, your steps for the day will be saved. When you open the app, the steps will be posted as distance cards (you'll need to have taken some steps as well).
Autoposting
Autoposting means that each morning your steps from the previous day will post to the challenges you have enabled to receive ConquerorSteps.
When you enable ConquerorSteps on your device, this will automatically turn ConquerorSteps autoposting on for all of your active challenges.
To change this (for each challenge), go into your challenge settings > posting preferences
You can see if Autoposting is on by checking here:
Posting Distances
Currently posting is only available for a previous day(s) steps. You can view the current days total but not posting it midway through the day. This functionality will be released in the future.
Unposted steps
If ConquerorSteps posting preferences is set to off for all of your active challenges (or you do not have any active challenges), you daily ConquerorSteps will still become distance cards which you can access via the ConquerorSteps page in the app. If you want to post these steps to a challenge, simply tap on post to a challenge, and follow the instructions.
Note - your ConquerorSteps that have not been posted to any challenge will only stay in the app for 90 days, so make sure you post them to a challenge before you lose them!

FAQs
What if I uninstall and reinstall the app?
Android - permissions regrant required on reinstall
iPhone - you will see permissions screen on reinstall but you don’t have to give permission again
How many previous days steps can I see?
For Unposted steps the maximum will be 90 days however, you need to open the app at least every 6 days to save the steps on iOS and every 10 days on Android. If you keep the app closed for too long you may stop receiving them.
Once they are posted they will stay saved in the ConquerorSteps screen.
What if I have The Conqueror App on multiple devices?
Enable on the device you want to use it on, can only use on one device at a time.
If you connect on a new device it will disconnect the old device.
ConquerorSteps will not work on a tablet or ipad either.
Can I use ConquerorSteps at the same time as other connections?
Techincally yes, but this could lead to posting the same steps more than once.
Posting preference are the best way to keep this form happening if you do have more than 1 connection.
Some people will want their steps to post to 1 challenge (so Conqueror steps will work for that) and their cycling to another challenge, so they may connect Apple Health Cycling for that.
Why is the distance that Apple Health / Google Fit records for my daily steps different than the distance that ConquerorSteps records?
Apple Health / Google Fit are able to use other metrics to calculate your stride length and the distance you are travelling, where as Conqueror Steps is just using a standard conversion to multiple by steps to calculate a distance.
Why are my daily steps in Apple Health / Google Fit different to what ConquerorSteps is recording?
The most likely cause of this is that you have another app that is pushing step data to Apple Health / Google Fit. ConquerorSteps is only seeing the step data that is recorded on the device itself and none of this other data.
If this is not the reason that you are seeing a difference please contact customer support.
Why is my Android not allowing Conqueror Steps?
If your Google Play services is not up to date, you may see an error message. You need to keep this updated. For more information visit https://support.google.com/googleplay/answer/9037938
