Background:

Health Connect is an Android platform that allows health and fitness apps to store and share data on the device within a unified ecosystem, giving users control over their data and which apps can access it.

Health Connect has been created in a partnership between Google and Samsung to give Android users a way to share Health Data with other apps.

Google Fit while remaining active at the moment will be phased out on Android devices in 2026, therefore The Conqueror is switching to make Health Connect the connection that we will support rather than Google Fit. The ability for Google fit to send data to apps (other than Health Connect) is also being removed, so even if you continue to use Google Fit, you will need to connect this to Health Connect.

Health Connect will come preinstalled on new Android devices and for older devices it can be downloaded from the Play Store.

Great news for Samsung Health Users

Health Connect is also now the official way to share your health data from Samsung Health meaning that Samsung health distances can now be synced to The Conqueror easily.

Read more of the technical details of how Samsung Health shares data with Health Connect.

How to use Health Connect

Please make sure you follow all those steps as missing one will likely mean the connection will not work.

There are factors outside of The Conqueror app's control that can affect the connection on an ongoing basis, for example, when you update your device, your operating systems, or when Health Connect updates the permissions can change or need to be confirmed again, we do our best to keep our trouble shooting info up to date on how this can effect your connection to The Conqueror.

Benefits (and Risks) of using Health Connect

As Health Connect is designed to be a single centralize location to store Health data collected on your device (phone, watch, other) you will be able to securely store the data in Health Connect and then we use an API to receive the relevant data.

Health Connect will allow you to connect apps like Google Fit, Fitbit and more (the list will keep growing), so this could mean that you choose to only connect The Conqueror to Health Connect and receive data from those other apps via there. On the flip side if you do have other apps already connected to The Conqueror there is a risk of receiving duplicate data if you connect to Heath Connect.

If you are experiencing issues with the connection between The Conqueror and Health Connect we invite you to give us your feedback here so we can understand if there is an issue that we can fix, or improve the user experience.
